Since it's grand opening in January 2011, Marga's Funny Mondays has crowned the "Funniest Woman in Berkeley 2011," spawned the first ever Berkeley "Gay Comedy Festival" and caused a laughing pregnant woman to go into labor. The show received a proclamation of achievement from the Berkeley City Council. Marga Gomez's enlightened and diverse programming for “Comedy Brains” at the Marsh was awarded East Bay Express's " Best Comedy Remix 2011."
