Will Durst is the natural successor to Mort Sahl –The New York Post.

“Highly Recommended! Durst is at his sly, savvy best. A sharp one man show.”–The New York Times.

“ A great political satirist! One of the funniest guys around! “ Fox News Radio.

“One of the greatest commentators of all things political. He’s one of the best. Air America Radio.

He’s perfected a verbal jitterbug of comedy, taking on politics, and war and rhetoric” –The New Yorker Magazine.

If you’re tired of politics as usual, you’ll love Will Durst.WOR Radio.

What the show.

Elect To Laugh with Will Durst and Friends! is a hysterical hybrid chasing down the presidential election cycle like white on rice with material as up to date as the latest tweet from DC. It will blend monologues and commentary and perhaps the occasional rant. The show’s intent is to blur the traditional boundaries between stand- up comedy and theater. Through innovation, experimentation and a ravenous appetite for accessing the topical via the jugular, Durst and Company are out to prove that jokes are not the enemy.

Descendants of Mark Twain, George Carlin and Spalding Gray, Durst and his rotating cast of Friends! will every Tuesday twist the rhythm of stand- up with poetry, punditry and puzzles o’plenty planting the production solidly in the strictures and structures of a deconstructed one man show. Or solo performance piece. Whatever. With a single aim: to mock and scoff and taunt, but with taste. Consider it political comedy for people who don’t like politics.

Who the show

Acknowledged by peers and press alike as one of the premier political satirists in the country, Will Durst has patched together a comedy quilt of a career, weaving together columns, books, radio and television commentaries, acting, voice overs and most especially, stand up comedy, into a hilarious patchwork of outraged and outrageous common sense. His abiding motto is “You can’t make stuff up like this." The New York Times calls him "possibly the best political comic in the country." Fox News agrees "he's a great political satirist," while the Oregonian hails him as a “hilarious stand- up journalist.” This former radio talk host, oyster shucker, and margarine smuggler currently writes a nationally syndicated humor column, and his scribblings have appeared in Esquire, George, the San Francisco Chronicle, National Lampoon, The New York Times and scads of other periodicals. He is a 5 time Emmy nominee; has been fired by PBS three times; told jokes in 14 countries; racked up 7 nominations for Stand- Up of the Year; and his 800+ television appearances include Letterman, HBO, Showtime, CNN, ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox News, the BBC and many more. The critically acclaimed Off-Broadway run of his one man show: “The All American Sport of Bipartisan Bashing,” was subsequently turned into a book of the same name by Ulysses Press. His hobbies include pinball, the never-ending quest for the perfect cheeseburger and his heroes remain the same as when he was 12… Thomas Jefferson and Bugs Bunny. Not necessarily in that order. Durst's performances are made possible by the 1st Amendment to the Constitution of the United States.

Who else in show?

Like minded others. Such as really really famous guys. Not so famous guys. Really really famous gals. Etc. Duos. Trios. Groups. Examples: Margaret Thatcher & The Bolshoi Ballet. (admittedly- negotiations not going well- but our optimism remains high)
