"Edgily Comic...Resonant...Riveting" –SF Chronicle

BEST ONE-WOMAN SHOW UNITED SOLO NYC 2011

NEW! Listen to Marilyn's Forum Interview

"Grand tragedy with brillian comedy! Bravo!" –Matt Fadness, through Smoke Creative

"Fabulous! A great piece of theatre." –CY Musiker, KQED's "The Do List"

"I grew up in a funny family. And then my dad shot my mom. And then himself. He was a WWII vet, she was a passive-aggressive poet. The ‘greatest generation?’ Nah. Love is deadly. It could happen to you. I survived it. Mostly. And I’m a comic. "

Marilyn Pittman’s It's All The Rage won Best One-Woman Show at the 2011 United Solo Festival, the world’s largest solo performance festival, in New York City. It is ‘the funniest show you’ll ever see about murder-suicide.’  28 scenes in 60 minutes; a tour de force of acting, stand-up, and reading from her parents’ love letters and journals.

Performer Bio: Marilyn Pittman is a radio talk show host, journalist, educator, actor, narrator, comedian, and solo performer. She won a G.L.A.A.D. Media Award for her work as one of the first openly gay comics in San Francisco during the AIDS crisis; she narrated an Oscar-winning documentary, “Deadly Deception;” and, she is seen yelling out the window at Matthew McConaughey in Ron Howard’s “EdTV.”  She is a top talent consultant to NPR, teaches performance at UC Berkeley’s Journalism School and The Knight Digital Media Center there. She currently co-hosts “Out In The Bay,” a weekly LGBT radio interview show on KALW, Thursdays at 7pm and at: outinthebay.com.
